You really need only a bit more than a pea-sized squeeze, amazingly. While the cleanser part of this is perfect (takes all traces of makeup, oil and dirt off your face without stripping or drying at all) and is pleasant to use, the exfoliation part is really very so-so. The exfoliating plastic-y (fully rounded) beads in the gel are fairly large, like larger sand grains, and there just are not enough beads in the small amount of gel you need per wash, to actually create any true exfoliating effect- if anything, the beads just randomly get in the way almost. If Obagi had added a higher density of the beads, this could be called Exfoliating. As it is, it just works as an extremely good, nearly scent-free cleanser, which makes it a very worthwhile product anyway. The Retinol 0.5 cream is a lighter, maintenance version of the prescription Retin-A .025 I use sporadically, without the more obvious drying or the flaking of the skin. I actually use the Obagi360 Retinol 1.0 generally, and find that this and the 0.5 product keeps my skin feeling and looking fresher and more balanced. I still can tell the Obagi360 Retinol is working, as I like to use this particularly around the more sensitive areas of my face (eyes, lips) which are more prone to wrinkles anyways, but also too delicate (for me) to use Retin-A on directly, and the exfoliating effect is more subtle, but still noticeable. After several nights of use, I can tell that the areas I use the Retinol cream on needs exfoliation, and when I use a fine/ gentle exfoliating pad (the Obagi360 gel here won't cut it), my face just looks betterThe HydraFactor SPF 30 sunscreen is a high quality base cream, which I use under makeup. Originally, I was not pleased with this product, as I wore it out on a fairly hot day and went jogging. The easily washable and light-feeling water-based cream got in my eyes with the sweat, and stung badly. However, all the reasons why it came off my face so easily are all the reasons I actually like this cream as well- which is that it is light, smooth, soaks into the skin fairly well, and works great on it's own, provided you don't put on heavier layers trying to use it as a serious sunblock (causes shine). I realize that's a lot of qualifiers, but if you are going to the office and not planning on spending time in significant sun and heat, this cream works and feels very natural and hydrating, and can be more appropriately used as daily incidental sun protection.I think Obagi has the cream part of all their products well-developed and perfected- the creams have very little scent, feel light and moisturizing, and they leave your face feeling and looking natural, naked and hydrated. The creams are so excellent as base and night moisturizers (really, among the best creams I've used- thus the 4-star rating), and the exfoliating gel is so effective as a cleanser, that I still like to use the Obagi360 products despite some of the limitations I noted above. If you are already an Obagi user, and know what i'm talking about w the great creams, this 3-pack w cleanser is a definite buy. Read LessRead less about If you are a fan of Obai360, this
